First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood (PCUSA) in Los Angeles, California, has known as a PCA pastor to function its subsequent senior minister. Pastor J.T. Tarter has been serving as pastor of Capital Presbyterian Church Herndon (PCA) for the final two years in Herndon, Virginia. Final week, the PCUSA congregation in Hollywood elected Tarter to be its subsequent senior pastor.
The Hollywood congregation is understood for the influential ministry of Henrietta Mears who pioneered a Sunday Faculty program within the early twentieth century that grew to 4,000 in attendance. The church nurtured the religion of many evangelical leaders together with Richard Halverson and Invoice Vivid. The church is a part of The Fellowship Community, a bunch of evangelical congregations within the PCUSA.
McLean Presbyterian Church is the mom church of Tarter’s present congregation. Concerning Tarter’s new name, McLean Presbyterian states on their website,
